Baby Boomers Generation

Ninetendo Wii Fit Plus

Released Oct 2009, Wii Fit Plus uses your balance board and controller accessories in all new ways.

When you first load Wii Fit Plus, it will import all your stored data from Wii Fit, so you can build on progress you've already made.  You'll choose your goals, like: Lifestyle, Health, Youth, or Form for a routine tailor-made for you, including warm-up and specific exercises to reach your goals.

You'll find all the familiar categories, trainers, and Body Test with a few additions.  One addition is an easier option for Multiplayer Mode so you can trade off with your family and friends a bit easier, though you still go one-at-a-time.  The Wii Fit activities are still available right along with all the new ones.

Yoga builds on the skills you learned in Wii Fit, and adds new activities.

Strength Training also builds on the previous skills, adding new moves to take your workout to a new level.

Aerobics has additional routines and expanded options to vary and improve your routine.

Balance Games has expanded to include a greater variety of ways to use your balance board, challenge your abilities and control, and adds a whole new layer of laughs.  You'll find a Segway beach game, hilarious flying chickens, skateboarding, obstacle course, and more!

One fun new feature is Pet Stats - you'll stand on the balance board and have someone hand your pet to you.  You'll create a Mii just for your pet which will join you and other family and friends in the Plaza.  You record and track your pets weight, to help keep them healthy along with the rest of the family!  While the pets don't get to participate in any of the games, I've noticed my dog running along side me, which is pretty fun.

In addition to new activities, Wii Fit Plus also has a Custom feature where you decide on your routine and you also get a read-out of your METs for each game you play.  METs represent how much exertion is required for the different movement and helps you determine how many calories you burn over time.

At around $20 for just the disc, Wii Fit Plus is an excellent addition to your Nintendo Wii Fit game, and just might keep you working out longer with plenty of entertainment and challenge along the way!
