Generation evolution continues....
Nintendo Wii (say it "wee") has been on the market now for several years, and at first glance you might think it is only suitable for school-age kids or perhaps young adults. Take the time to look again, and you might find yourself pleasantly surprised! One of the best things about the Wii is that it will definitely get you off the couch and perhaps even laughing your way through an otherwise uneventful afternoon or evening. With a few extra accessories, you can even invite others over for some friendly competition.
The price had been relatively steady for some time, and it wasn't always easy to find a console when you went looking, but the prices have started to come down a bit, and most retailers seem to have stock on hand.
The basic console comes with Wii Sports and one controller, so you'll probably want to pick up a rechargeable battery pack stand and extra controller so you can challenge at least one other person.
Set up is relatively quick and you just follow the instruction to install the motion senor bar on top of your television, which is what interacts with your hand-held controller. You then program your controller or multiple controllers, and you are all set to start. You can attach an internet connection if you want, but it is not necessary.
Each person playing will set up a caricature of themselves, known as a Mii (say it "me"). You will customize the look of your Mii with several features such as hair and eye color, clothing color, add glasses if you wear them, and so on. It's fun to try out the different options and takes only a few minutes each. You can always change your choices later on if you'd like.
Now you just have to start up the machine, choose your favorite game, select your Mii from the plaza, and get ready for some fun!
