Every generation has its own fitness needs and challenges. Perhaps the Baby Boom Generation has a greater understanding of the needs to continue a balanced and consistent fitness routine more than others.
We all know that walking is one of the most effective ways to keep you moving, and that we should all add some strength training to maintain our bone health and rev up our metabolism, and swimming and bicycling are great aerobic exercises. We don't need to be told the benefits of these and how much engaging in our favorite sports like golf and tennis help keep us young at heart.
Unfortunately, it is easy to get off track. Perhaps the weather has sidelined you, or you might be just plain bored with your routine. Nothing can replace these activities, but adding something new can help engage your imagination and freshen up the routine.
One option is the Nintendo Wii. With the variety of games available, it can add an element of fun and challenge you in ways you might not otherwise engage.
